THE REEL LIES

What do a cruise ship, bereavement, an extra and a guy stuck in a closet have in common? Nothing, you may say at first. The films in this screening, however, beg to differ, and incite you to challenge the notion of reality. Fact or fiction? That is the question. Somewhere between denial and dissimulation, between riveting what ifs and non compos mentis pipe dreams, each film offers a unique take on this vital matter in cult cinema. As Philip K. Dick (not to be confused with his Breton homonym) once wrote, "Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn’t go away."
