Science Fiction cinema is crawling with groundbreaking technological advances and extraordinary life forms, including: spaceships made for interstellar travel, bearable-ish planets and hostile-ish imaginary creatures.

The genre looks emphatically to science for inspiration, but what would these motion picture works be worth once scrupulously screened through the prisms of Physics and Biology? How plausible is the Avatar (James Cameron) vehicle? Are the extraterrestrials in Arrival (Denis Villeneuve) scientifically credible? Should we be afraid of Godzilla?

Pulling from a selection of film excerpts and current scientific expertise, this conference will open your Sci-F-eyes!

______

Calling all Rennes natives and near natives, as part of Science Center Tuesdays, you will also find Roland Lehoucq on Tuesday, September 20 in the Hubert Curien Auditorium of the Champs Libres for his conference entitled, "Antimatter, Between Fiction and Reality."
