Since the festival has morphed into (Super) Short Métrange, the Métrange Eye-Tinerary – Exhibits has no other choice but to follow suit, becoming (…insert non-enigmatic drum roll, please...) The (Super) Short Expo !
In a year as uncanny as this one, we’ve decided to take a retrospective regard on the festival. The Maison Internationale de Rennes will host, yet again, the exhibit for a trip back in time. Come join us for this space, not to mention space-cial, odyssey. What’s in store: a swooping synopsis into 17 years of competitions, winning film screenings and a MIR gushing with posters from earlier editions. The (Super) Short Expo offers not only a pictorial look back on the founding principles having shaped cult films, but also a pensive one, enabling filmmakers and film buffs alike to track the festival’s mutation over nearly the past 20 years.
Wait… there’s more! If our space-and-time contraption can take you back several years, there’s no reason it can’t take you forward. We’ve put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into each festival’s poster up to now, so we’ve decided this year to hand over the markers to any and all wishing to put their creepy creativity into motion. There will be a space with all you need, smack dab in the middle of the exhibit, with hopes that you’ll be charmed by the kooky and spooky surrounding you. Up to you then to whip up something strange and unusual. Compensation for the winner will be a rib-crushing round of pride knowing that the crowned jewel will beam brightly at next year’s Court Métrange Festival in 2021.
