For the first time ever, Court Métrange is proposing a Long Métrange screening for Young Audiences and families in partnership with the Benshi platform. Irish director Tomm Moore is the mastermind behind Song of the Sea, a visually- and acoustically-enthralling voyage rooted in the imaginary of Celtic legends and nature conservation. With wonder and curiosity as its guiding lights, this animated tale seeks to lighten the weight of sensitive topics such as family relations, loss, and memory with captivating compassion.
Ben and Saoirse live with their father at the top of a lighthouse on a small island. To protect them from the dangers at sea, their grandmother takes them to live in the city. Ben discovers at that moment that his sister is a selkie, or seal fairy, whose song can free fairies and spirits from the spell cast upon them by the Owl Witch.
