There are times in life when too much of a good thing can have us wiggling our way, in vain, out of a can of worms in the bud, proving just how ode-ious glut and excess can be. One little bite. All it takes is one little belligerent bite to break the seal of a fine-spun film separating us from other worlds, a caustic-and-effect maneuver with disacerbster written all over it. Once broken, twice sly. Gargling is pointless: The tap’s run dry. The only thing spurting now from this hole will be in the world to come. With taste shot, though eyes all aglow on these new digs, our work’s cut out for us: go head-to-head with the uncharted and its feral following. Some are possessed by the desire to annihilate us. Others are out to baitlick our salacious soft spots before we fall hook, line and sinker for their titillating tactics. And others have a mystifying message to impart. These short, instructional tales constitute a handy, all-in-one volume for the magna cum laude ‘n clear souls who’ve (mis)taken the road less traveled. So, with them, feel free to test the waters, but as the murkiness sets in, beware…for best not to hold their hand. It may not be theirs.
